Every artist needs a coach - someone with years of experience with whom you can rely on to answer your questions, critique your work, steer you in the right direction, and encourage you. If you're looking to take your Art & Creativity to the next level, let's get started!
If you are a painting beginner who wants to learn painting essentials, an intermediate or above painter who wants to take your painting to the next level, or an artist who has been itching to try your hand at a new medium, there's nothing better than individualized, private art coaching to help you achieve your artistic goals.
For painting beginners, I offer a program that gives you a solid foundation in the basics - things you'll never learn anywhere else. We'll cover drawing, color, values, and composition. We'll discuss brushes, paints, mediums, and painting surfaces. I'll examine your strengths and weaknesses, and you'll receive individualized assessment and exercises to give you clarity and direction to increase your painting understanding and technical skills.
For intermediate and above painters, we will begin by focusing on your painting goals. I'll then examine your strengths and weaknesses, and I'll create a course that will take your work to the next level. We'll dive deep into color mixing, values, edges, and techniques to add magic to your paintings. I'll teach you how to see a painting, before you begin and teach you a procedural system so that you'll never wonder what to do next. You'll learn tips and tricks that will make your paintings rise to a professional level.
For all levels, we'll meet remotely once a week - 4 times a month. Along with a review of the painting(s) you're working on, you'll receive weekly assignments. Each session lasts between an hour and an hour and half. The cost is $400 per month. Some months have 5 weeks. If you want to meet for that 5th week, there is an additional cost of $85. I’ve been in the art field for approximately 50 years – painting, illustrating, teaching, lecturing. And in all that time, I’ve watched students make the same mistakes over and over. The mistakes that were made 30 and 40 years ago, are still being made by the students today.
And it’s not just beginners who make these mistakes, it’s intermediate painters, and dare I say it, people who have been painting for a long time.
In this series, we'll delve into the 30 most common art mistakes people make and how to avoid them. 30 mistakes, 30 episodes. It’ll be fun and instructional with solid time-tested content, and with tips and tricks to help you avoid these mistakes in the future. So, what do you say? Let’s get to it! Here's the link: 30 Painting Mistakes Artists Make | Episode 1 Mixing Colors
